Vietnam Culture and Art


The water rice civilization is the main typical of Vietnamese culture. Thousands year history make the profound culture in this land. The changes differently in three regions: North, Center and the South and with the influence from Eastern, Indian and Western Culture make diversity culture appearance in Vietnam. In order to clarify and select the content for the tour, the suggestion is based on these main points of Vietnamese culture and art:

  1. The Vietnam Culture in general specifically regional but united in the root system. The Red Rive Delta is the original and the rich land of Vietnamese culture and ancient history. The Center has changed from Champa culture (IV – XVII century) to the entire Vietnam monarchy capital (XVIII – XIX century) and taken changes in modern time, as if it brings another look of Vietnam Culture. The new land Southern seams to be simple but multiple inhabitances as Viet, Khome, Chinese, Cham. Beside that more than 50 Ethnic minorities in Vietnam also form the distinctive culture.
  2. The Art jewelries of Vietnam are Traditional Architecture and Sculpture of Red River Delta, Champa Sculpture and Architecture and Hue Royal culture. Contemporary Art the inheriter also considered.
  3. About non-object heritages, there are a thousand traditional Festivals taken in a year and many traditional performances were recognized as the heritages of mankind such as: Quan Ho song, Gong music, Royal music. Especially Vietnamese cuisines, such a amazing culture aspect also introduces.

Day 1: Arrival

Day 2: Hanoi 1000 years
Morning: One pillar pagoda, Ho Chi Minh mausoleum, Temple of Literature, Quan Thanh Temple, Doan Mon Gate, Fine Art Museum.
Afternoon: The Center: Hoan Kiem Lake, Ngoc Son temple, Old quarter. French quarter: Tonkin Palace, Opera House, Historical museum.
Overnight: Hanoi. Meals: B, L. Transportation: car.

Day 3: Festival day
The Festival selected from Festival Calender in the certain time of the year, mostly taken in the country side of the Red River Delta.
Night show Ca Tru, one of the non-objects Unesco World Heritage with emergency protection, private entertainment in the traditional building.

Day 4: Kinh Bac culture
Kinh Bac the rich land of traditional culture, the home land of famous Quan Ho singing, the non-object Unesco World Heritage of mankind.
Visit Thanh Chuong Viet Mansion the best selection of local artwork, Diem Xa the homeland of Quan Ho , But Thap pagoda, Dong Ho painting village.

Mountain Culture

Day 5: Sapa
Arrived in Lao Cai early morning, after breakfast in town drive to visit Weekly market of colorful dressed mountain hill tribe, continue to Sapa town check in the Hotel. Note: Weekly Markets on Sunday in Bac Ha, Muong Hum; Saturday in Can cau; Tuesday in Coc Ly; Wednesdays in Lung Khau Nhin.

Day 6: Sapa
Morning: drive to Muong Hoa Valley to trek in Lao Chai, Ta Van villages. Passing suspension bridge. Continue visit Cat Cat, Sin Chai villages on the down hill of the town which facing to Fansipang Vietnam’s highest mountain and turn to The Town for lunch.
Afternoon: drive up to Hoang Lien Son Pass, visit Lu and H’mong village in Lai Chau, the other side of Hoang Lien Son mountin range and Silver water fall.
Overnight: Sa Pa. Meals: B, L. Transportation: car, hiking.

Day 7: Sapa – Hanoi
Early morning: drive through the home land of many diffrence ethnics 350km back to Hanoi. Visit Hung King Temple, the Temle dedicate to the Fist Father of Vietnamese and Duong Lam ancient village, the home land of two Kings of Vietnam.
Overnight: Hanoi. Meals: B, L. Transportation: car.

Red River Delta and Northern Center of Vietnam

Day 8: Ha Long Bay the World Heritage
Morning : Depart from Hanoi to Ha Long City, it takes 3h30’ drive include a break on the way.
Afternoon : Boarding wooden junk, seafood lunch on boat, and cruise for 5h on the Bay passing Dinh Huong, Litter Duck, Fighting Cocks Islands and some floating fishing villages. Visit Thien Cung, Dau Go caves on an Island. Return the wharf and stay overnight in Ha Long Beach.

Day 9: Hai Phong – Thai Binh – Ninh Binh Morning: depart to Hai Phong the port City, visit the center garden and Nghe temple, Hang Kenh communal house. Enjoy the unique traditional art of Vietnam in its original land perform by a village puppet guild in Dong Hung. Family lunch in the village.
Afternoon: Admire two architectures and sculpture jewelary of the Red River Delta: Keo and Pho Minh Pagoda.
Continue to Hoa Lu the ancient Capital of Vietnam visit Temple of Dinh King, Le King.
Overnight: Ninh Binh. Meals: B, L. Transportation: car.

Day 10: Ninh Binh – Thanh Hoa
Early morning : Take the boat rowing trip in Tam Coc on Ngo Dong River in Tam Coc, the land called “Ha Long on the country side”. Continue drive in the Catholic Region to the oldest and spectacular Stone Church in Phat Diem, one the best successfull using traditional architecture for the Catholic Church. Lunch on the way.
Continue to Thanh Hoa the home land of the King who restored the Magic Sword to the Golden Turtle in the Hoan Kiem Lake in Hanoi. Drive to visit Ho Citadel, the amazing Great Stone Wall of Vietnam built in early XV century . Back to a resort in Sam Son Beach.

Day 11: Thanh Hoa – Quang Binh
Morning: drive on the land of many Vietnamese Genius to visit Ho Chi Minh native Land, Temple of Nguyen Du the Great Vietnamese Writer. Turn to Legendary Ho Chi Minh trails, stop in Dong Loc T-junction for admire the spirit of girls scarified for the flow of transportation on the trails during the war. and take the way to Phong Nha, the Carven World Heritage.
Overnight: Phong Nha. Meals: B, L. Transportation: car.

Day 12: Quang Binh – Hue, DMZ zone
Morning: Cruise on Son River to discover amazing Phong Nha Cavern, the longest water cave in the world, and also the importance part of Ho Chi Minh legendary trail. Lunch in Quang Binh.
Continue South to Vinh Moc Tunnel, the hidden living village undergroud on the 17 parallel, stop at Hien Luong bridge the contemporary border of North and South during Vietnam war. Continue drive to visit La Vang, the Catholic Sanctuary which stand magically though many bomb attacks. Aproaching Thua Thien Hue Province, visit Phuoc Tich a original traditional village before arriving in Hue City.

Center the World Heritages Land

Day 13: Hue, the World Heritage Culture.
Morning: visit the World Heritage Site of Great enclosure combined of Hue Royal Citadel and Purple Forbidden City and listen to the Royal Music one of the fist non-objects Unesco World Heritage. Continue to Thien Mu pagoda. Special lunch to introduce Hue Culinary and dish decoration.
Afternoon: Visit Tu Duc romantic King’s Tomb, Khai Dinh exotic Tomb. Enjoy the Tea Court in Tra Dinh Vu Di tea House. Continue to Royal Arena and Thanh Toan Covered Bridge.
Dinning with Hue traditional music.
Overnight: Hue. Meals: B, L. Transportation: car.

Day 14: Hue – Ethnic culture and ecology.
Morning: drive to the West of Hue to Doi hill village, Nam Dong commune. Discover the Center Hilltribe Culture, in the warm welcome of the villiger enjoy Gong music one of non-objects Unesco World Heritage, lunch in the country house.
Afternoon: back to the City and relax.

Day 15: Hue – Hoi An
Drive along the sea coast southward, climb up on the Cloudy Pass, some stops on the way for taking pictures, stop in Da Nang City and visit Champa Sculpture Museum, Ngu Hanh Son Cave Pagoda the Holly five marble mountain.
Arrived in Hoi An, check in Hotel and Lunch break. Afternoon: Walking in the Unesco World Heritage of Hoi An ancient Street, visit Japanese Bridge, Old house, Chinese Congress Halls, Museum.
Night walk free in the street of lanterns light up reflecting on the water of Hoai River.

Day 16: Hoi An – My Son
Morning: drive to My Son, Unesco World Heritage, and the Hinduism Sanctuary of Champa kingdom built from VII to XIII centuries. The complex of brick towers, decorated with statues, sculptures divided in many groups and located in the mysterious forest look up to Cat Tooth Holly Mountain worshiping the combination God of the King and Hinduism Siva God. Admire and study the Cham Art, the jewel of Vietnam Art. Lunch in My Son. Contine to Khuong My Tower, an other Cham tower group. Back to Hoi An on the way visit Thanh Ha ceramic village.

The Southern Culture

Day 17: Ho Chi Minh City
Morning: tranfer to Da Nang for fly to Ho Chi Minh City Ho Chi Minh City. Check in the hotel and lunch in town.
Afternoon: tours in district 1; War Remnant Museum, Reunification Palace, Post office, Notre dam Cathedral, Ben Thanh market and visit Ho Chi Minh City Fine Art Museum . Continue to Giac Lam Pagoda and Thien Hau Pagoda in district 5.
Dinning in Binh Quoi tourist village and take part in traditional wedding party.
Overnight: Ho Chi Minh City. Meals: B, L. Transportation: car.

Day 18: Ho Chi Minh City – Cu Chi – Can tho
Morning: visit Cu Chi tunnel, a famous underground guerilla base during Vietnam War in the suburban district of Ho Chi Minh City.
Continue drive to Can Tho City, the Center of Mekong Delta Region, stop in a Cao Daism Temple on the way.
Overnight: Can Tho. Meals: B, L. Transportation: car.

Day 19: Can Tho – Soc Trang
Early morning take the boat trip to Cai Rang floating market busy of boats buy and sell fruits, visit some riverside villages, fruit gardens back to the boat station. Early lunch. Continue drive to Soc Trang, the province of Kho Me people. Visit Kho Me pagoda: Doi pagoda, Chen Kieu Pagoda, Kho Me culture museum, and Clay pagoda with many Buddha statue made by clay. Drive back to Can Tho.
Overnight: Can Tho. Meals: B, L. Transportation: car, boat.

Day 20: Can Tho – My Tho – Ho Chi Minh city
Morning: turn back to My Tho City visit Vinh Trang pagoda in the City, arrived in the boat station, take the boat to My Tho Market, continue to Phung island and walk in fruit gardens, country houses, candy workshop and cruise on the canals under water coconut trees, back to My Tho boat station and drive back.
Overnight: Ho Chi Minh City. Meals: B, L. Transportation: car, boat.

Day 21: Departure
Transport to the airport.
